Meet Kurkik: AsyncAPI for Kafka, Pulsar, SNS and SQS
🎃 The AsyncAPI plugin's horse has escaped the IDE. Meet Kurkik, a vendor-neutral tool to detect API drift, export, compare and apply AsyncAPI documents for your message brokers.
Meet Kurkik
🎃 Something stirred in the stables of the AsyncAPI JetBrains plugin…
A pale, strange, slightly spooky horse has escaped, just before Halloween. 🐴🌕
Meet Kurkik, named after Կուռկիկ Ջալալի, the legendary horse from the Armenian epic.
For a few releases, Kurkik lived quietly inside the plugin. It powered everything that touches your messaging systems: Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Amazon SNS and Amazon SQS. It helped you inspect, export and diff your connections between environments, or against your source code.
Beyond the IDE
But a horse like this can’t stay in the IDE forever. 🕯️ Now Kurkik has its own body and is ready to serve your whole team, outside of IDEs:
- 🦇 Guards against API drift between your AsyncAPI documents and the brokers that actually run
- 🕸️ Keeps APIs self-maintaining. Export, compare and fix, all from one AsyncAPI document
- 🪦 Makes setups repeatable. Apply one document to dev, staging and prod, with a plan you approve
Vendor-neutral by design
Kurkik plays well with others. It is vendor-neutral, tied to no broker vendor or platform. It speaks one recognisable format, AsyncAPI, so the documents it produces can also configure API gateways or feed docs in EventCatalog.
